This really is an amazing article. As one who has become used to journalists and commentators presenting such a jaundiced view of Christianity, it is refreshing. Parris is not simply seeing that missionaries bring social benefits but have, ‘unfortunately’, passed on faith as well. He sees that when the gospel is received, people are changed inwardly, and it shows on the outward life, in a way that is beneficial to wider society.
OK, I liked the Heminway theme but it was a bit limited and I had some comments from my family that it was not very nice. So I have changed the look and feel . . . again.
