Barry King, of the Grace Baptist Partnership, has penned a great little article called “Myth Busters – Dispelling common myths about church planting”. It tackles the tendencies of  churches (perhaps especially conservative & reformed?) to hunker down and be defensive.

The myth I think is particularly interesting is this: “we should focus our attention on strengthening existing churches”. Barry says it’s not “either/or” any more than a couple wanting to care for elderly parents and wanting children is “either/or”.
